    Why Wasaga Beach?

People no longer move to Wasaga Beach to retire, they go to thrive, which is one of many reasons Stonebridge Building Group chose to create Stonebridge by the Bay in this picturesque setting.

Home to the world's longest freshwater beach, this charming town on the majestic shores of Georgian Bay is a four-season resort-style community dotted with cottages and family owned businesses.

Wasaga Beach and the Georgian Bay Triangle offer residents a lifestyle as relaxing or as exciting as they choose. Stroll the 14 km soft, pristine, white sand beach; explore the unique sand dunes, golf at any of the many golf and country clubs in and around Wasaga Beach.

It has acres of parkland, conservation areas, campgrounds and miles of trails perfect for walking, cycling, and hiking. Residents and tourists also enjoy swimming, fishing, sailing, jet skiing, windsurfing, go-karts, cross-country skiing, alpine skiing, indoor and outdoor skating, snowmobile trails, snowshoeing, hockey, baseball, and more.

Wasaga Beach is a "Blue Flag Beach". The international recognition means that the beach adheres to high standards in water quality, environmental management, environmental education, and safety practices. The beach is monitored to make sure those standards are kept.

There are six beach areas, which range from active and busy to laidback and quiet. Beach Area 1 in the east features entertainment, live events, a pet-friendly beach, a boat launch, and shops; Beach Area 6 offers scenic views, while those in between feature family picnic areas, and playgrounds.

The 2,900- acre Blueberry Plains nature reserve, situated on 26 kilometres of trails featuring a wide variety of animals (including more than 200 bird species) and flowers, is a treat for the senses; it provides a tremendous learning opportunity for the young and young at heart.

Other recreational opportunities include the Wasaga Stars Arena, which has year-round ice, the Huronia School of Skating and Summer Camp, Northwestern Hockey Camp, fitness nature trails, a playground, and a multi-purpose sports pad. There's also the Wasaga Beach Sports Park, which can accommodate soccer, football, baseball, a canoe launch, a concession stand, and other facilities, plus the Wasaga Beach RecPlex.

Wasaga Beach offers so much: Jazz in the Park, a winter carnival, fishing derbies, dances, Kitefest, classic car events, fireworks, camping, BeachFest, sporting tournaments, Corvette Weekend, arts events, a triathlon, a half marathon, Christmas activities, plus live entertainment at the new WasagaDome, historic events at the Nancy Island Historic Site, plus a variety of fine dining, pubs, night clubs, coffee shops, and bakeries. Or you can just sit back and take-in the breathtaking panoramic views from across the bay.

Those who treasure the rewards of volunteerism will find Wasaga Beach has plenty of opportunities to contribute to their community through various service clubs including the Rotary Club, Lions Club, Probus Club, and Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
